Live Webinars – some top tips.
February 21, 2011
If you are planning on running a live broadcast – specifically a webinar format. Here are our top tips for maximum impact and ROI:
Nail the plan
Ensure you get a clear schedule in place, define your objectives and ensure all stakeholders are bought in. Work to 4-6 weeks at least for promoting the webinar and build in a period of post event marketing to maximise value from content.
Speakers and script
Develop the script with your speakers and organise a conference call with all contributors a week before to bring the theme together and go over the running order. Meet early on the day of the webinar so everyone is fully briefed on the set up and feels relaxed in the studio.
Maximise audience interaction
Keep the audience engaged by capturing questions and feedback throughout the process. Measure opinions both before and after viewing to see how they shift. Feed questions into the presenter during live broadcast for the panel to debate.
Keep the debate alive
Use the questions and poll results to form discussions after the webinar. Either in online discussion forums such as LinkedIn or IP’s Wavecast platform. Create webinars that run before a live event to generate debates and discussions or run them as responses to particular issues or developments.
Optimise for social media networks
Create a hashtag for your webinar on twitter, promote through facebook or partner with LinkedIn discussion groups. Ensure you leverage your media contacts, speaker networks, and sponsor databases to maximum effect.
